Terrific Golden Sea ... This is either a dream or a reality!
It can take a while for a traveller to arrive in the spring in Looping County, eastern Yunnan, China, to know what a dream is. When one sees the golden canola flowers reaching out as far as the eye can see, one can only wonder if this is heaven on earth. The wholeness and majesty of the view becomes incomparably more stunning than any other spring scene on earth if the backdrop of the mountains is added.
Canola is a mustard plant used in China which produces edible oil. The view is dictated by the fields in which it is grown. China is the biggest manufacturer of rapeseed oils, like canola, worldwide. India, the fourth largest producer of oil in the world, produces 2,473,000 tonnes of oil a year.
